- Jesus used that authority and He took dominion…
-----> over His flesh [Mark 1:12-13]
-----> over temptation and the devil [Mark 1:12-13]
~~~~~~~~~> Jesus did not believe the lies of the devil
~~~~~~~~~> the devil tempts us with things that God already gave us
-----> over unclean spirits [Mark 1:23-27]
-----> over sickness and diseases [Mark 1:29-33]
-----> over leprosy [Mark 1:41]
-----> over sin by releasing forgiveness [Mark 2:1-5]
-----> over legalism [Mark 2:28]
-----> over the elements (wind, waves) [Mark 4:39]
-----> over death [Mark 5:41]
-----> in producing after His own kind [Mark 6:7-13]
-----> over poverty and lack [Mark 6:37]
+ cooperate with whatever you have left. He will multiply it
-----> over the laws of science [Mark 6:48]
-----> over deafness and blindness [Mark 7]

ADTT Lesson on the Dominion Mandate, part 2 As taught by Pastor Gertrudes C. Hinampas To Batch A3 of the Apostolic Discipleship Training Track November 12, 2008

- Matthew 28:16-20, the Great Commission
-----> Jesus gave instructions
-----> He reminded and assured His disciples of His presence
-----> He commissioned them to GO to ALL the NATIONS to…
~~~~~~~~~> Make disciples – teach, train, equip and disciple
~~~~~~~~~> Baptize them
~~~~~~~~~> Teach obedience to His commands
- A parallel account of the Great Commission is in Mark 16:14-18, where Jesus says…
-----> Signs will accompany His disciples. They will
~~~~~~~~~> Drive out demons
~~~~~~~~~> Speak in new tongues
~~~~~~~~~> Pick up snakes and drink poison without being harmed
~~~~~~~~~> Lay hands on the sick and they will be healed
- We are to step out in faith and take dominion over the things around us
- Jesus promised the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. Acts 1:8 and fulfilled in Acts 2:1-6
Greater Things Are Yet to Come. Greater Things Are Still to be Done.
The restoration of ancient wells and mantles, in addition to the new level of anointing God is releasing in the earth, will cause a "healing river" to overflow its banks. The healing revival of the 1950s still holds a standard of miracles we seldom see today. But, as we move into this new season of exchange, the glory of God will far surpass the healing anointing He poured out in the past. This Holy Spirit revival of fire will trump the 1948-50s healing revival. We will see more extreme miracles and deliverances take place than ever before. Ministering angels have been assigned to ensure those who move in this new level of love and healing don't repeat the same mistakes from past generations.
William Joseph Seymour, of the 1909 Azusa Street Outpouring, prophesied the "glory cloud of healing" would return in 100 years (2009). We are witnessing the glory explosions and healing miracles in our Breath of the Spirit's meetings weekly. God is releasing specific words of knowledge that are opening deaf ears, straightening backs that have been twisted with scoliosis, restoring torn ligaments and joints, removing cancerous tumors and healing cancer ridden organs. The anointing is stabilizing hearts with arrhythmias, healing chronic issues of pain and much more.
See What the Father is Doing
The New Testament passage in John 4 speaks of the Pool of Bethesda, which is translated "outpouring." The healing angel would come and trouble the water. When the anointing began to pour, the first to step in was healed. Those who weren't able to step in became bitter, murmuring and complaining of those who were more fortunate than they. Jesus approached a particular crippled man that His Heavenly Father had shown Him in a vision. This man's crippled identity was enslaved to sickness for 38 years. After one supernatural encounter, strategic appointment or divine confrontation with Jesus, his life was healed.
In the place of outpouring we will overcome the victim mentality by renewing our mind to become "victors." Ephesians 4:23-24, "Be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth." If we will come to Jesus for healing during this time of outpouring we won't have any more excuses for our crippled, weakened conditions.
The new move of God will usher in a new breed of leaders who will only do what they see the Father doing. John 5:19-21, "Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner. For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself is doing; and the Father will show Him greater works than these, so that you will marvel. For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son also gives life to whom He wishes."
The realm of vision is so powerful it ignites passion and clarity of purpose in the heart of the beholder. To walk into the greater works we must see what the Father is doing in Heaven and allow it to flow through our lives here on earth.
New Voices Will Be Heard
God is opening doors to release new voices in 2009 that have only been heard on a limited level. This new breed of leadership will be full of godly wisdom, knowing the seasons and proper timing like Issachar. The Daniel and Joseph anointings of understanding mysteries, dreams and enigmas will also operate on a governmental level.
New faces will grace the conference and media arenas with an authoritative Kingdom message and the power to back it with signs, wonders and miracles. These hidden ones will emerge out of the wilderness carrying the mantles and wisdom of past generations.
The Kingdom that is within us is expanding and beginning to flow like a river, watering the barren places. We will continue to increase and expand if we will focus on unity and God's Kingdom business and mandates first. Isaiah 55:11 says that every word that goes forth from His mouth shall not return to Him void, but will accomplish what He pleases, and it shall prosper in the thing for which He sent it. The sound of God's voice shatters darkness. Psalm 89 tells us that we are blessed if we know the sound. The sound is God speaking. Everything He says He will do; He will accomplish everything.
Great Grace and Favor
2009 is a season of a supernatural endowment of great grace. Grace and favor gives us the capacity to live as an overcomer, or a victor, not as a victim who is overcome by the enemy of their soul.
The Shekinah glory descended upon the Tent of Meetings and Moses met with God face-to-face, but that glory faded. Moses died in the wilderness but Joshua continued to walk with God in the glory. He received Moses' mantle, crossed the Jordan and entered the "Promise Land."
Throughout history we see men and women who learned to walk in a "spirit of holiness with God." The Spirit of holiness is the divine nature of God manifesting in maturity with resurrection power! Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him. Enoch walked in resurrection power and never experienced death.
Romans 1:4-6, "Who was declared the Son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead, according to the Spirit of holiness, Jesus Christ our Lord, through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles for His name's sake, among whom you also are the called of Jesus Christ."
Enoch's anointing or mantle was to walk and talk with God in the Spirit of holiness. He displayed the divine nature of God in its fullness, walking in resurrection power! Genesis 5:23-24, "So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him." Enoch's earthly walk was the same as his walk with God in heavenly places. He was not double-minded. Enoch was renewed in the spirit of his mind. He put on the new self, in holiness and truth in the likeness of God. Enoch was a forerunner of what we are called to be in Christ. It is the Christ in us that gives us the hope of glory.
Intimacy learned in the Song of Solomon will enable the hidden ones to emerge from their wilderness wanderings with their hearts panting for the Lover of their souls. Their ears are tuned to hear the whispers of His voice leading every step of the way.
Deliverers to Set the Captives Free
God is equipping deliverers to set captives free. His eyes are searching for those who will walk in His ways of truth. Isaiah 42:22-23, "But this is a people plundered and despoiled; all of them are trapped in caves, are hidden away in prisons; they have become a prey with none to deliver them, and a spoil, with none to say, '"Give them back!' Who among you will give ear to this? Who will give heed and listen hereafter?"
Kingdom revelation builds faith producing Kingdom power through which many people will be set free. Psalm 9:9-14, "The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; for You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You. Sing praises to the LORD, who dwells in Zion! Declare His deeds among the people. When He avenges blood, He remembers them; He does not forget the cry of the humble. Have mercy on me, O LORD! Consider my trouble from those who hate me, You who lift me up from the gates of death, That I may tell of all Your praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion. I will rejoice in Your salvation."
Salvation has the power to save and heal us completely in our mind, emotions, body and spirit.
Resurrection Power to Do Miracles
On January 11, 2009, I awoke from a dream of resurrecting four men from the dead:
I found myself in a room with four dead men. Several more who knew them were present, grieving for their loss. The Holy Spirit spoke to me as I entered the room and said, "Their spirits are still in the room at ceiling level." In the vision I saw myself lay hands on the stomach of one of the dead men and commanded life to enter him. His spirit manifested in the form of a transparent spirit skeleton. It lay on top of the man's dead body. As it entered his body the man's breath or spirit returned and he resurrected from the dead. When the men in the room observed what had happened they followed suit. The other three men were raised from the dead too. Then I was transported to another state to raise a woman from the dead in the same manner.
Leaders are to demonstrate and teach so the Body can learn to do the works of Christ. Jesus is looking for a place to lay His head. The Body of Christ must arise in the Church so His head will have a resting place. I am learning about resurrection power through the dreams God has been giving me. Resurrection power operates the best outside the four walls of the Church.
Paul went down to the street to resurrect Eutychus from the dead. Acts 20:8-10 tells us, "There were many lamps in the upper room where we were gathered together. And there was a young man named Eutychus sitting on the window sill, sinking into a deep sleep; and as Paul kept on talking, he was overcome by sleep and fell down from the third floor and was picked up dead. But Paul went down and fell upon him, and after embracing him, he said, 'Do not be troubled, for his life is in him.'"
Paul left the safety of the four walls of the Church. He went into the streets to embrace the broken and the dead. He released resurrection power and brought Eutychus back to life. We are called to do the same. Matthew 10:8 says, "Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give." When Paul stepped outside the walls of the Church, resurrection power was released.
During this time of transitioning into the resurrection power, God is calling the Church to pray as never before. We are to seek His face while he may be found. Psalm 105:4-5, "Seek the Lord and His strength; seek His face continually. Remember His wonders which He has done, His marvels and the judgments uttered by His mouth." It is time to seek the Lord for increase.
A Plentiful Harvest: Gifts and Fruits
Hosea 10:12 says, "Sow with a view to righteousness, reap in accordance with kindness; break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek the Lord until He comes to rain righteousness on you."
His rain will bring forth a plentiful harvest. This speaks of continuing to seek the Lord until breakthrough is obtained. Isaiah 55:6 further exhorts us to seek the Lord while He may be found and to call upon Him while He is near. We must enter the presence of the Lord to access His power. A clear, clean conscience will bring forth a new level of boldness and power to enter His presence. 2 Timothy 1:3, "I thank God, whom I serve with a clear conscience the way my forefathers did, as I constantly remember you in my prayers night and day."
We are told in 1 John 3:21-22, "Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight." As long as we are asking in the name and character of our Lord it shall be done for us.
2009 is a year of developing the nine fruits and the nine gifts of the Spirit with divine great grace!
1 Corinthians 12:4-11, "Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord. There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.
"For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, and to another the effecting of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another the distinguishing of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills."
The fruit of the Spirit listed in Galatians 5:22-25 enable us to walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit."
When we mix the fruit of the Spirit and the Gifts of the Spirit we release the resurrection power in our lives.
Power Evangelism
This season of great grace is a call for us to walk in Power Evangelism releasing salvation to the lost as a free gift of God.
Ephesians 2:4-10, "But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
"For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them."
God's great grace is releasing a flow of testimonies that demonstrate God's great power to save, heal and deliver.
Acts 4:33-35, "And with great power the apostles were giving testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and abundant grace was upon them all. For there was not a needy person among them, for all who were owners of land or houses would sell them and bring the proceeds of the sales and lay them at the apostles' feet, and they would be distributed to each as any had need."
Signs and wonders are increasing as the proceeding Word of God leads us into abundant life. Matthew 4:4, "But He answered and said, 'It is written, "MAN SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE, BUT ON EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD."'"
New Wine: Drink Deeply of His Joy
This is a year to be filled with the Spirit of God and His new wine in 2009. Drink deeply and abundantly of his joy and grace. Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice. It is time for us to rejoice, not fear.
Philippians 4:4-7 instructs, "Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Adjust your mindset to think positively, count your blessings and taste and see that the Lord is GOOD! Be focused on and totally dependent upon God to meet your needs supernaturally this year. Psalm 34:8-9 tells us to, "taste and see that the Lord is good; how blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him! O fear the Lord, you His saints; for to those who fear Him there is no want." He will abundantly satisfy.
Our old dry wine skins are fading away and they will be exchanged for a new flexible wineskin, shining with the glory anointing. Our focus will change from the past moves of God to the present "Now" new move, and we will have vision for the future. When we prepare our hearts to become a new wineskin God will fill us with the new wine. The New Wine is God's dunamis power releasing His glory, demonstrating His goodness, manifesting His presence and the commanded blessings of unity coming forth.
Good wine is a blend of the finest of grapes confined in a barrel for a specific time to blend and meld together. The winery test and tries each vat of wine until it reaches its peak or premier taste. The dregs settle to the bottom and are poured off. Every person has their own taste or flavor, but when we come together in unity—no one stands out but we blend to perfection.
Isaiah 65:8 spoke of the new wine in the cluster or in the spirit of unity, "Thus says the Lord, 'As the new wine is found in the cluster, And one says, "Do not destroy it, for there is benefit in it," so I will act on behalf of My servants in order not to destroy all of them.'""
Authority and Positioning
Chuck Pierce with LeAnn Squier: "Vital Keys Concerning the Next 30 Days!"
[from the Elijah List]
Dear Friends, Intercessors and Zion Aligned:
Please carefully read the key dream and prophetic interpretation below that applies to all of us.
Dream shared by LeAnn Squier:
"I was in an outdoor stadium, more like a performance hall or coliseum. Not so much the size but the importance of the setting and gathering was key. I arrived early, being one of the first in line to assure that I would be seated properly. I went through the gate and turnstile, and then walked down at an angle to all the seats. The stage was in front of us. When I got down to where my seats were, I looked back and could see that several had gone before and usurped the fences and the boundaries of the order set by the authority over the gathering. Many of the best seats all over the hall had been claimed.
"There was this one section that stood out brilliantly to me in the dream and I knew I was supposed to be seated there. The section had been saved by someone placing bright, hot pink stadium blankets to cover the whole section of seats. I looked around and there was this beautiful, elegant, stately black woman down front and I knew she was the director over everything. I went down to her and said, 'Is that alright? Are those seats available? Should they have been covered over like that?' She said, 'No, you're welcome to take those seats.'
"At this point I was down front close to the stage, but I knew I must be repositioned for this important meeting. Instead of just taking the easy way, climbing over others by zigzagging and running to secure my seats, I went all the way back to the entryway, and went through the gate and turnstile again. I waited on the three people in front of me.
As I was waiting on this pathway or concourse that you walk on, I stepped out to the aisle and there were children on the ground playing with toys. They obviously had some clear plastic toys that were now totally broken into many parts and pieces. They were all over the pathway. These pieces looked like clear broken glass. I thought, 'I've got to go to my seats, so I will just step on all the broken parts and keep going.' I felt the plastic pieces getting into my feet. I stopped and grabbed the next post in wonderment, shaking my head, wondering why all this broken stuff was on this pathway or aisle. I was just sitting there, plucking it out of my feet, and I woke up." -End of dream
I Have Your Next Seat of Authority
LeAnn shared that the key issues in the dream that impressed her were the authorities, the authorization, the positions that were given, the gates, the paths, and the brokenness that could have stopped her. I could sense the interpretation for us as she shared the dream. I heard the Lord say:
"I have destined a place for you. In the midst of My positioning, you are halfway. You are between redemption and purity. I am purifying you now so that you can find the redemptive thread for your life and the entryway into your promise. Your seat and position of authority has been destined.
"I am blowing new vision on you to show you your place of authority for this next season. Do not enter in the gate through an invalid way or hurry past the protocol that has been developed for your safety. Watch the authorities that I have positioned to help you into this next seat of authority.
"When you see your position, find your way fully through and into your next place. Even though much immaturity has torn up and broken the gifts that I am releasing and cluttered the path to where My people will be seated to rule in days ahead, walk forward anyway!
"Walk on top of that immaturity and do not allow that which My children have used wrongly to stop you. Do not allow My gifts that have been broken and abused to keep you from your new seat of authority. I will have those on your path who will point the way and keep you moving. You will be positioned with a new authority in a new place.
"I will redeem your place in the midst of those who have broken rank and run ahead of My perfect timing. This will not prevent Me from gathering again those who are willing to hear My call. I am preparing the places of broken, abused and unfulfilled destinies and will reseat My faithful ones that will lead on into the future. Harvest awaits and I will not be stopped."
GROW, MATURE, INCREASE and ACCELERATE in the Next 30 Days!
Because of our covenant alignment, I find wonderful blessing occurs in my life and this ministry when I pray for you. This is a time of asking the Spirit of the Lord to cleanse our blood and break any spiritual generational iniquitous patterns in our lives. I am declaring that you GROW supernaturally.
May you experience an acceleration and growth in your life in the next 30 days. May you make the sacrifices you need to make for others.
May you grow in your attitude and sustain a loving and respectful manner toward others even though they may not do the same. May you grow and mature in your character traits. You may be anointed, but let the Lord develop your character in a new way. May you react with wisdom and a cool and poised spirit in every difficult situation. May you grow through your resistance to temptation.
May you grow in courage and boldness. May you see abusive, detrimental situations come to an end. May you represent the Lord and be wise as serpents but gentle as lambs. May you always act according to Father's will and see His blessings manifest in the earth realm. May the Word of God come alive in a new way and your actions of faith increase. May satan's strategies of decrease be foiled in your life. Grow in resources. Let creativity develop in your difficult situations.
May you grow in your relationships. May you grow in gratefulness for people that God has placed in your life to guide you. May you grow and increase in your good deeds and acts of kindness. Go beyond your natural tendencies! Be compassionate and forgive those who are doing you wrong. Protect your marriage, your friendships, and your covenant ministry partnerships. Show others how to prosper so you may gain an increase yourself.
"Delight yourself in the Word of the Lord. In His law meditate day and night. You will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water. You will yield fruit in due season. You will remain unique and not become barren. Your leaves and life processes will not wither. Whatever you do, you will prosper.
"For if you remain righteous in your acts and character, the LORD, who knows your way, will direct you in a straight path. The wicked will perish! So do not join yourself with those who are doing wrong for ungodly gain! Stay true to our Lord in this season and you will prosper!" (Paraphrased from Psalm 1).
Holiness and the First Stone
"Be holy because I, the LORD your God, am holy." Leviticus 19:2
I was hanging out at one of the Roman Catholic churches near our congregation yesterday and was able to catch the 7pm mass there. The priest was talking about the issue of holiness and how men of the cloth are often misunderstood -- because of the scandals involving priests that have plagued the Roman Catholic Church [and even in other denominations].
As the priest was speaking, the Lord spoke to me about His requirement of holiness. People always have this high standard of holiness measured against priests, pastors and ministers without realizing that God requires holiness from all His children, not just from those chosen to minister in front of people.
Parishioners and congregants have this glossed over idea that their clergy, church leaders and ministers are in a higher plane of holiness simply because they appear in front of the masses. While it is true that there is a higher level of accountability for priests and pastors, I believe God requires the same standard of holiness for everyone, whether we are the shepherd of our flock or a sheep in the flock.
In Leviticus 19:2, God clearly states that requirement: "Be holy because I, the LORD your God, am holy." He does not give this command to a chosen few of his people but to all His people. "Speak to the entire assembly of Israel..." God says in verse 1 before giving the mandate of holiness to the people of Israel.
Immediately, what came to mind when the priest was sharing his homily was the story of Jesus and the sinful woman who was about to be stoned by the people because she was caught in sin. I was reminded of how easy and quick it is for us, the bench warmers and the pew-packers, to turn into a mob once we see our leaders, pastors or priests falling into some form of sin and immorality. Almost everyone of us wants to be the one to cast the first stone, without first checking if we ourselves have been living in complete, untarnished holiness and if we have managed to avoid every temptation that came our way.
Two questions came up while listening to the preaching last night:
1) do we, as congregants and parishioner, apply the same high standards of holiness in our own personal lives that we expect from our leaders?
and
2) do we pray for our leaders and cover them and the ministry that they do?
See, it's easy to point fingers at the mistakes of others, especially if they are front line ministers, people who have been called to serve us in front of many. But who's pointing a finger at our own mistakes? I can only hope we're are as adamant at our own failures as we are at the failure of others. Otherwise, we'd all be like the Pharisees and Sadducees who lived a life of hypocrisy. If we demand such high standards of holiness on priests, let us remember to apply the same high standards of holiness on ourselves because God doesn't have a holiness discrimination -- He requires and expects holiness from all of us, whether we are pastors or lay ministers or churchgoers. He requires it from all of us because He is a holy God.
Also, if our leaders fall into sin and fail, let's check ourselves to see if we did our part in covering them and supporting them in prayer. Paul encouraged Timothy -- and all of us -- to pray for all people and to "pray for rulers and for all who have authority so that we can have quiet and peaceful lives full of worship and respect for God"[1 Timothy 2:2]. As much as our leaders and authority figures are accountable to God for their own lives and for leading us, we are also accountable to God for our own lives and for spiritual support [among others] we are to give to our leaders. It takes two tango you know, and if our priests fall into immorality or our pastors fall short in the area of holiness, chances are we didn't do our part in covering them with our prayers.
I have heard many people [and I was one of these before] complain about the weaknesses of their leaders; complain about the duplicity of some priests; criticize the flaws of their pastors; point fingers at the inadequacies of their ministers; bawl about how the pastoral style is not to their liking; whine about the holiness and purity issues in the clergy; while we ourselves did not take time to check our own lives and our standing before the Lord.
Our leaders, pastors and priests are only human... and still human regardless of the titles attached to their names or the priestly garments they put on their bodies. They face the trials and testings as we do; encounter temptations like we do; they feel lust, pride, jealousy, anger and hurt like we do. They've not shed their vulnerability to the flesh just because their names are prefixed with Fr. or Rev. It just means that they are called to serve where they are. They have a calling and they have heeded that call. That doesn't make them holier or stronger or better than the rest of us. They are still human beings like you and me, but they are just called to that area of ministry.
This is not to excuse the sins and shortcomings that our ministers and leaders commit and fall into. Far from that actually. The Bible tells us to confess our sins and repent of them. It also tells us to correct and rebuke when ever a wrong comes up. I believe that if our leaders fall into issues of immorality and sin, they should be subject to disciplinary action as much as any member of the flock is. But the point I'm trying to make is this: to expect others to abide by a certain measure of holiness without adhering to the same measure ourselves is foolishness. It's like the old saying "do as I say; but do not as I do." Or saying something like "I expect you to be flawless and blameless, but never mind shining that light on my life."
If we expect our leaders to be good examples of holiness and righteousness, we must first have a realistic view about the issue. The truth is NONE OF US IS HOLY ON OUR OWN. That's why we all come to Jesus and adopt His holiness and righteousness as our own. The moment we start to think that we are holier than others, is the moment that God will begin to humble us and remind us that our righteousness as just like filthy rags before His eyes.
Jesus was very much against the issue of duplicity. He warned people about living pious public lives while leading sinful ones in private. If we are quick to point out the faults of our leaders -- even of our brethren -- we must be reminded to "first remove the plank from our own eye". Yes, there are priests who are errant, there are pastors who transgress, but we have been taught by the Lord Himself to forgive, to be compassionate and to carry each other's burden.
We all make mistakes, we all fall short of the glory of God. Instead of wanting to cast the first stone in the public square, let's put ourselves in the shoes of our leaders, priests and pastors -- or of anybody who sins for that matter -- and show the compassion of Christ to the sinner, while remaining hateful of the sin. "Separate the sinner from the sin. Love the sinner, hate the sin," is what I often hear from the first row from the pulpit where I sit. And it is sound advice. Jesus Himself adhered to it -- this was the message of His life. He extended His compassion and forgiveness and mercy to us. Why should we not do the same for our brothers and sisters?
Imagine what it would be like if Jesus was the one eager and ready to throw the first stone at you!
God's Viewpoint - A Coalition of Time and Eternity
Kim Clement: "God's Viewpoint - A Coalition of Time and Eternity"
[from Elijah List]
When God speaks, He removes all doubt that our circumstances will control our freedom, however it does require a certain condition: our compliance to make it possible for Him to do it.
Lately, I've been thinking about our "point of view," and the fact that we are each a point of view. Every single person is a point of view. I am a point of view, you are a point of view. And from that angle, we see things based on our belief system, our education, our spiritual perception, our history - good or bad - and very importantly, our present circumstances. This point of view may be a healthy one, or a view based solely on our small thinking. God comes along and changes our viewpoint with a divine viewpoint.
Divine Perspective
When God speaks to us, it is an exegesis of existence from a divine perspective, which is a complete explanation and interpretation of a particular perspective. Why does God have a specific viewpoint and, is my own point of view at odds with His? This could happen. Another aspect of God speaking to us is the fact that if we believe it (while living in time and space, bearing all the restrictions that come along with time and space, like weariness, sickness, depression, opinions, etc.), then HE is able to make it happen.
You may ask the question, "Why would God be restricted in any way, considering that He is God?" Well, the answer is easy. God lives and exists in eternity, or timelessness, and has made human beings rulers in time and space. They manage it, redeem the time, and occupy the space with very little help from eternity. The only thing they have to assist them to bring some eternal power and help into their restricted world is...faith.
Faith can move a mountain. Jesus spoke to a tree that was unfruitful and the next day it was dead. He spoke to winds and storms commanding them to be still. What Christ was doing was using the eternal power that existed in His BLOOD to make adjustments in His restrictions (time and space). We all have the same restrictions that He had. Based on the fact that if we accept Him and the Holy Spirit, we would have the same power and no possible restrictions could hold us back from our destiny.
Remember the story of Simon Peter in Matthew 16, as he stood with a bunch of disciples ready to answer the question Jesus had posed to them? "Who do men say that I am?" They all answered Him in parrot-like fashion and basically gave Him the opinions of the people saying, "You're a re-incarnated prophet - Jeremiah, Elijah, John the Baptist." Then Jesus, obviously wanting to see what their viewpoint was, posed the following question, "Who do YOU say that I am?"
Now, He wasn't asking them for an opinion, or a carnal point of view, but was asking for something eternal. No one answered until Simon Peter spoke out, "You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God." This did something for Jesus and He told Simon Peter, "Flesh and blood (time and space/opinion) has not revealed this to you but My Father in Heaven (eternal) has." Jesus continued to say, "...Simon Peter, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in Heaven and whatever you loose (release) on earth will be loosed in Heaven."
Suddenly, there was an understanding in my mind that a "revelation from God," mingled in our mind and spoken out, would bring a harmony between Heaven (eternity/no restrictions) and earth (space/time/restrictions). Simon Peter, because of a "God" viewpoint, could command eternity into any earthly/worldly situation by releasing or stopping/loosing and binding.
Temporal vs. Eternal
Here is the dilemma: temporal and eternal are at odds. God has to find someone in time and space who has moved away from a limited, restricted, spacey viewpoint, and someone who has had a revelation from an eternal viewpoint, and move them to SPEAK it into that atmosphere - an atmosphere of negative energy derived from negative, restricted opinions.
My Grandmother used to say; "Opinion is like a backside - everyone has one and it stinks most of the time." However, let me continue encouraging you in this. Doesn't the Bible teach us in Ecclesiastes 3, that, "God has placed eternity in the heart of man"? The word "heart" there is translated, or correctly interpreted, as DNA.
Therefore, we have absolutely no reason not to overcome the restrictions that exist in our limited time and space. Eternity being in your DNA means that there is something driving you to connect with another eternal being or thing and if you can't find it, then you will find a temporary thing and place eternity into it/them.
Sound weird? Think about this then. Moses is taking the Israelites out of Egypt and away from their oppressors, surrounded by unbelief, fear, anger, and outrage in millions of Israelites that have been oppressed for 400 years. So their thinking is controlled by 400 years of history, slavery, oppression and pain.
Suddenly someone comes along and shows them a few miracles and finally gets them on their journey to freedom. The odds are against Moses performing any great miracle with their faith and expectation level. However, Moses has received a WORD from God, which means that he has an eternal command in his being.
God's word is not temporal, but eternal, and never dies. Moses tried to connect with something eternal in the people and finds nothing but restricted points of view. At one stage, the millions of Israelites (on their journey) run out of water and begin to angrily demand Moses to deal with this and speak to God. God tells Moses that there is water in a big rock close to him. This is ridiculous. Water does not exist in a rock. NO, it doesn't within the restrictions of time and space, but in terms of eternal perspective and God's viewpoint it does!
So what Moses has to do is take the word from God, which has connected with the eternity in his DNA (making it possible in his thinking), and place it into the rock by commanding it. There is no water in the rock. Moses has to place it there with his faith, his divine eternal viewpoint, and then command it with his now supernatural stick.
God tells Moses to strike the rock; as Moses does this, water gushes from the rock, and according to historians, a necessary 155,000 gallons of water gushed out of the rock to make approximately 3.5 million people happy in terms of drinking, cooking, bathing, washing clothes, etc.
Have Dominion
God needs someone in time and space to have a divine viewpoint in order for Him to perform His will on earth. That's the way He made things, and when He created Adam in the Genesis, He never told Adam that He (GOD) would be running the earth, but rather gave that power and authority to Adam by saying, "Multiply, have dominion, fill the earth and subdue it."
Basically, God was telling Adam, "You're in charge of the earth, time and space, and it's up to you to subdue it when problems arise." Have dominion. Dominion means, "to have sovereignty and control." Man's jurisdiction was over the EARTH, not any other place.
In Genesis 11, the Bible says that the various people on the earth decided that it was not the place where they wanted dominion, and so they decided to build a temple so high that the top reached into Heaven. Today this may seem ludicrous, but it's still happening in many different ways. What they were doing back then was trying to have dominion in the Heavens, because their attempts to have dominion over the earth had failed horribly because of Adam's fall.
Sin controlled their thinking and the point of view was limited and restricted to the selfish desires of the heart. They didn't care to use the "eternity" that God had placed within their blood, while under the restrictions of time and space, but sought another place to live rather.
Throughout my Christian life and ministry, I have seen the same problem, especially in the Church. People want to be "taken" to Heaven quickly and have the "Armageddon" attitude, which is, "I'm tired of life on earth, Arm-a-geddon out of here!"
They conjure up all kinds of doctrines to prove that God doesn't want us on this miserable earth, but wants to wipe it out, ultimately placing Christianity as a religion that is at odds with environmentalists who are desperate to save this precious earth that God gave to us. After all, wasn't His first command to Adam, "Fill the earth, have dominion and subdue it"?
Eternity in Our DNA
We have eternity in our DNA, which means that we can prove limitations wrong and WITHIN our circumstances make adjustments so that our restrictions actually become our opportunities and our greatest weapons. If you study God and how He worked historically with great men in the Bible and outside the Bible, you will see that most of these people were in severe circumstances with grave restrictions, and the general opinion was grossly against them.
The "eternal viewpoint" makes it possible for us to go through a transformation of the mind, thereby changing our speech. Once you use the power of the tongue to command your circumstances, your circumstances are converted from temporary distraction to eternal purposes. Moses stood before God at the burning bush and asked God how in the world he was supposed to deliver the people of Israel from Egypt.
Aside from the obvious problems, here are a few of the things that were against him. God speaks to Moses, a fugitive of Egypt and one guilty of murdering while he was a prince in Egypt, and says to him, "I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob."
In the midst of this breaking of the silence of hundreds of years, this completely unexpected manifestation of continuity, Moshe (Moses), the Egyptian prince who could hardly have been less prepared for such a moment, acts with a terror the patriarchs seldom exhibited, "Moses concealed his face, for he was afraid to gaze upon God" (Exodus 3).
In the same chapter, God speaks again and says, "I have seen, yes, seen the affliction of My people that is in Egypt, their cry have I heard in the face of their slave-drivers; Indeed I have known their sufferings! So I have come down (into time and space) to RESCUE it from the hand of Egypt, to bring it up from that land, to a land, goodly and spacious, to a land flowing with milk and honey...SO NOW GO, FOR I SEND YOU TO PHARAOH; BRING MY PEOPLE, THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL, OUT OF EGYPT."
HOLD ON - I thought God said that HE had COME DOWN to rescue them? So why is He asking Moses to do it? Because, God has restricted Himself by giving mankind management of the earth and therefore, will always give a man the job of doing what He in fact came to do. This is exciting because it makes me realize that God transfers that power (that He has to accomplish something) into us and commands us to GO and deal with it.
God Has to Deal with Our Point of View
The only real problem that God has to deal with is our point of view. How do we see it? Can we see it the way He does? His viewpoint is eternal - ours is temporal and restricted by our limited sight. Now God has to convince us that it can be done.
Moses stands before God with a staff in his hand. This is his security and the one thing that he is acquainted with. The staff has led sheep and warred off the various plunderers of the sheep. God asks Moses to throw down his staff, and suddenly, what Moses has "seen" as a mere piece of wood to be used for one specific purpose, is now a serpent. God was trying to show Moses that nothing temporal is what it seems. On the surface it looks safe and predictable, but in actual fact, with eternal viewpoint and command, it could produce many interesting things.
Think about when Jesus was walking the earth. He is faced with a problem; a man is blind and needs to see. Jesus spits into the earth's soil and mixes it into clay, shoves it into the man's eyes, and suddenly, the blind man can see. Earth - trodden on by the feet of men and the paws of animals - suddenly becomes the instrument to open blind eyes.
Whey didn't Jesus do what He normally did? He would've placed His hands on someone, or spoken a word, but instead He used the EARTH and showed everyone that what was a seemingly predictable waste, was in fact a force to be used to heal someone. How? He saw more in the earth than something to be trodden upon or dug up, and allowed eternity to be placed into it when He spat into it.
DNA transferred into the earth! You have that power to transfer the eternity that is in your DNA into another human being. That is the essence of the prophetic. You "see" something greater in a human being, even greater than what they see, and you speak it into their lives. What a joy to see them becoming the eternal beings they were designed to become.
Remember, you have eternity in your blood, your DNA, and you have the ability to change everything. You have a Word from God, which is all that you need.
Take A Stand
Stand Up Against Demonic Influences and Powers
Stand Up for Holiness
Stand Up for the Gospel
Stand Up for Righteousness
from a preaching by Pastor Che Ahn
An Open Letter to the Former Bearer of Light
You can come against me all you want. I will never leave my God. You can tempt me all you please. I’ve decided to set my face like flint. You can try your best to scare me off my wits. I will cling to the promises of my King. You may lure me with the things my wayward heart desires. But my passion for the Uncreated One will overrun and overtake all of me. And I have decided to burn my flesh as an offering to my Lord. You may succeed at silencing my voice. But only for a while for I will break out with shouts of victory and joy.
In case you forgot, I am already victorious in Christ and, at best, all you can do is try. For you have already been defeated. You are loser of all losers. You are failure of all failures.
You think you’ve got the upper hand just because I sometimes fall and falter? No way! “Do not rejoice over me, O my enemy; though I fall I will rise; though I dwell in darkness, the Lord is a light for me.” You think you’ve got the better of me just because I am weak? No way! His grace is sufficient for me, for His power is made perfect in my weakness. You think that just because you are still able to taunt me that I will always be cowed? No way! I have not been given a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline; and I am changed from glory to glory in the presence of my God!
Let me give you some perspective: you had your chance. You were made blameless in your ways from the day you were created. You had the best job anyone in heaven could have been given. But you wanted more and wickedness was found in you. Then you decided to ascend to heaven and raise your throne above the stars of God. Big mistake!
You had your shot, man! You had your chance! Guess what. YOU BLEW IT!
So do not come waltzing your way to me, trying to sell your stale pancakes and sweet lies because I’ve had enough of your schemes. You’ve had your fun and now it’s time to kick you butt back to your rightful place – UNDER MY FOOT!
You have already fallen like lightning from heaven. And I have been given the authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy – that would be you. Nothing will harm me, for that is what my Lord says. Let me make that plain to you: you do not have authority over me; I HAVE AUTHORITY OVER YOU – you and your minions!
My God is greater than you. My God is greater than anything you can throw at me. My God is greater than your schemes. My God is greater than your plans. My God is greater than the fears that your whisper in my ears. My God is greater than the obstacles that you put in my path. My God is greater! My God is greater! My God is greater!
He is the One who created all things. He is the One who IS IN CONTROL, not you. No matter how much you try conjure an appearance of control over things, you have squat! You can only have as much control as my God allows you. You are limited. My God is unlimited.
So yeah! You wanna tell me I’m weak? I say, yes I am. But my God is strong in me and He is greater in me than you that is in the world. You wanna tell me I’m a sinner? Sure! A sinner, but saved by grace through faith, redeemed by blood of the Lamb and adopted as a son of the Living God.
How about you? Who’s your strength? Who saves you from your sins? Who’s your daddy now?
Me? I got a Daddy in Heaven! He takes good care of me. He provides all that I need. He forgives, saves, heals, rescues, covers, protects, encourages, exalts, gives, blesses and HE LOVES ME!
Thank you for reminding me of my dependence on my God!
You Are the Devil and You Are Bad
I wrote this poem over a year ago and reading this again now, after finding it in my Gmail account, amazes me at how prophetic this poem is over my life. Pastor Joe often says something about poets being prophets who are ahead of their time, and how they often get it right.
I'm posting this poem here because now more than ever I feel the truth and the power of these words over my life.
you cannot cage me
i will not be contained
you cannot bind me
i will not be constrained
you cannot bar me
i will not heed your words
you cannot stop me
your words will not be heard
you may seem victorious
but i am victor still
you may seem successful
i am crusher of this hill
you may seem winning
i am champion all the way
you may seem pretty
i am brilliant everyday
you think you've won now
i am seated with the King
you think you've broken me
i am whole in Him
you think you've got me
i am safe in His great hand
you think you've floored me
i am righteous where i stand
you are the devil
and i'm not the one who's spending eternity in hell
you are bad
we both know who's got God on his back so well
On 24/7 Watch
I got hit today! And I fell. Looks like the enemy is striking where it hurts me most. But I cannot -- did not -- stay down long. I am already aware that this is a season of war. I guess I got a little bit careless on the battlefield earlier. Won't happen again... by God's grace.
Now more than ever, I find the need to be constantly vigilant. I know the Lion of the Tribe of Judah is strong within me, but there is also another lion out there who's just lying in wait, looking for someone to devour. The prophetic word during the Let the River Flow conference was really a timely warning. The watchmen really need to be watchful... 24/7.
The Lord prepared me this morning as well. On the commute, He reassured my that He is my Deliverer, my Help in time of trouble, my Rest in the rage of war, my Faith in the face of evil and my unfailing Hope. Also, Stacey Campbell's words during the conference comforts me now: "God loves me no matter what!"
The scripture says in 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." I stand on that word and I will not let the enemy butcher me in the battlefield. I HAVE AUTHORITY OVER THE DEVIL. NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND!
