The Pinnacle of Obedience

High up above the peak he stands
To gaze upon his promised land
Supported by God's gracious hand
On the pinnacle of obedience

A servant, steadfast on his knees
With ever ready heart to please
Submission is his own treatise
He illustrates obedience

Through storms of life, through darkest night
He keeps his heart close to the Light
He's loyal to the Savior's might
His face turned to obedience

Wherever he may be or go
His humble heart will keep him low
The actions of his life will show
The meaning of obedience

To father's heart and mother's care
To leaders -- they will be aware
To God, of all, Who's always there
His life lived in obedience

No mortal thought, no human fear
No powers dark, no mournful tear
Can take way what God sees dear
The fire of obedience

The pinnacle of obedience stands
A light for all to understand
Much more than sacrifice in hand
Obedience to the Lord's commands
